Many unfortunately end up in rescue centres. Reptilia offer a free advice service to help with the welfare and care of most exotic animals via e mail and facebook, unfortunatly we cannot offer a phone service due to the fact that we are busy during the day caring for the animals.

Do Herp societies do reptile rescue and adoption?
Many herp societies do reptile rescue and adoptions, as do independent reptile rescuers. While many of the animals available for adoption were turned in sick and injured, the rescues adopt out only healthy and recovered animals, or ones that need special care, to those able to provide that care.

Since we are also a reptile supply store we have everything you would need for your new family member close at hand. We will not divulge the sex of rescued animals until they are adopted. These animals are rescues and are priced as pets not as breeding stock. Below are available rescued reptiles.
Can You house multiple leopard geckos together?
For every person who houses multiple leopard geckos together and has no problems, there are others who encounter trouble and end up with wounded or dead geckos. I have spoken to several owners who have rescued leopard geckos which have been cohabited, and have lost toes, tails and ended up with bloody cuts on their necks and bodies from fighting.
Who pays for HERP rescues and adoption?
Some herp societies have members or committees who do herp rescues and adoptions. The cost of doing the rescue, rehab, maintaining and feeding the animals before they are rehomed is usually borne by those individuals doing all the work.

Two male leopard geckos should not be kept together. Once they have matured, male geckos can be very territorial and fight each other. To prevent this situation arising, always house them separately.

If you need to house your leopard geckos separately, we’d recommend investing in a vivarium stack. Vivarium stacks can usually house 3-4 reptiles in vivariums stacked on top of each other and they provide each bearded dragon with its own living space. They’re also a good space-saving solution if you have more than one leopard gecko.

The next time we list a reptile for adoption, you may be the first to know! We typically charge small adoption fees to protect reptiles from hoarders who simply collect free animals. However we try to keep adoption fees low to attract good homes, and 100% of the adoption fees benefit the rescue.
